ReplyDeleteI have another clivia that doesn’t bloom, Nicky. I guess that the difference is the position. This one is on a south facing windowsill all year round. In winter the radiator below the window is obviously on. The pot is fairly small but deeper than usual. I think the roots like to be restricted but need the extra depth. Other than that it is fairly neglected. I don’t feed it and water when I remember. It’s often bone dry when I remember. :-)
DeleteThanks Sue. Mine's in a South facing window and similarly neglected! I might try potting it into a deeper pot and see if that does the trick. Thanks for the tip. Talking of tips, do you have any for getting a plant out of a pot with curved sides?! ��
DeleteDon’t use too large a pot, Nicky. No idea about extracting a plant from a curved pot other than smashing the pot!

ReplyDeleteEven better, Carrie as the plant was a gift from a blog friend, Roger Brook. The green blobby thing is actually a seed pod not a bud. I’m intending to try and germinate the seed.
