I suppose we needed some rain ...

... but could it now stop for a while please?

The prettier side of rain - the raindrops on leaves such as aquilega
and alchemilla
The pansies seem not too mind it too much either
But we need a break so we can actually manage to plant something on our forsaken plot!

    1. Wouldn't it be great if we could share the weather out so we all had our fair share of everything Liz?

  2. I can't believe how much rain we've had. It's been dry so far today, but it's gone a bit dull now, I don't think the day will pass before we get some more.

  3. Lots here too. The chickens have their own Glastonbury going on in what used to be an okay lawn... Lovely leaf pics - April is the best month for Alchemilla photos.

  5. Fab photos, Sue - just the sort of thing I enjoy! We have had loads of rain too. It seems we get either feast or famine these days. so much for our "temperate" climate!

  6. I'm with you all the way on this one - there's no way I can get on the plot - it has been raining solidly all day. I knew I shouldn't have done that 'rain dance' when it was dry. Be careful what you wish for!

    1. It's just such a disappointment after the lovely week in Scotland - I suppose that would have been when we would have got the allotment jobs done - how silly of us to go on holiday!

  8. Lots of rain here but plenty of time between showers to get things done. Much needed as south wilts has just been declared a drought area.

    1. The trouble is showery weather is no good for us when we have to decide to travel to the plot, Damo. By the time we've decided to go we have another shower and also it is often taining at the plot when it isn't at home and vice versa.

WE haven't had a drought declared in spite of no rain last year - I guess the work done by Yorkshire water worked.

  9. Brilliant sunshine one minute, torrential downpour the next, the chickens are looking extremely bedraggled and they too are creating there own mini muddy festival in the back garden.

On the plus side, my three 200 litre water butts are overflowing and everything is very green and pretty. Lets remember later in the year when we are complaining about not enough rain that its all or nothing here now...

    1. Chickens wil soon evolve so they have webbed feet, Lorraine. It is all or nothing - maybe a tune that could be played at the chick festival!
