Martyn usually takes videos and I usually stick to photographs. Our gardening videos are posted on our vlog here as well as on our YouTube channels which contain more of a mixture of themes.
On Sunday I fancied having another go at making a video and so I filmed a 'tour' (doesn't that sound grand?) of our garden greenhouse.
Any images of inside a greenhouse at this time can only be a snapshot of one day, as things are changing daily if not even hourly. Since I filmed the video seeds have been sown and germinated, seedlings have been pricked out and shoots have sprouted. Herbs have been potted into larger pots. Lettuces have been planted in the raised bed in the garden and growing bag on the allotment and sweet peas have been moved to the cold frame.
By the time you read this no doubt more changed will have occurred but if you fancy a peep back in time to last Sunday in our garden greenhouse my video is below.
The video is nine and a half minutes long.
The video is nine and a half minutes long.
So you finally managed to wrench the cam from Martyn's grasp! I enjoyed the tour and really appreciated seeing the context. Apricots are the stars, fruiting up so early. My overwintered parsley is nothing like that. Perhaps I will afford it greenhouse space in future years!
ReplyDeleteWe usually bring the parsley into the greenhouse over winter to protect it from a bit of the weather, Mal. It’s not so much the cold as being wet and soggy. Just hoping the apricots mature and don’t drop off.
Deletelovely video and so enjoyable with commentary you and Martyn have a lovely garden, as to whether he lets you loose again with the video camera perhaps you could let him use your latest Sony stills camera to even things up. PS please can we have some more videos some time
ReplyDeleteI offer but he likes his own Fz2000. He doesn’t take many stills. The ones he uses on his blog tend to be captures from his videos. Martyn is starting to take a video of each week which are posted on our Vlog.
DeleteYou have so much going on!
ReplyDeleteI loved the flowers in the pots at the beginning, so colorful. Once the days get longer your plants do leap ahead of mine and grow so much faster. I was particularly impressed with all the fruits on the trees.
For me a lot of the fun with this video was listening to you talk. At first I couldn't understand a word, but then got used to the accent, accent to me, not you, of course. I learned how to pronounce some words, ah-ber-jean, not oh-bur-jean, I've only read before.
Oh dear, Jane I’ll have to work on my enunciation. It is oh- ber-jean. At this rate you’ll learn to speak with a Yorkshire accent! Believe it or not to some people living in our neck of the UK, I am considered to ‘speak posh’.
DeleteFingers crossed that we get to taste the fruits.
Well, you certainly do sound posh compared to some of the accents I've herd on the busses in London. They make me cringe!

DeleteLovely garden and greenhouse Sue and blessing in sharing and to the both of you
ReplyDeleteThank you, Linda
DeleteThat was lovely ~ your garden and greenhouse are so worth a visit, and I am impressed at how well you did considering you couldn't see what you were filming. The pots at the beginning are very pretty.
ReplyDeleteMartyn told me later that the camera goes into a power saver mode and darkens the screen. To light it up again you have to tap the screen, I’ll know next time. Glad you enjoyed it though, Deborah.
DeleteYou've got lots of seedlings going and your potatoes are looking excellent. I love seeing your grapevine climbing the greenhouse, so fun. I'm growing potatoes in pots as well, hopefully it's not too warm for them already. And your little baby fruits are such a lovely thing to see.
ReplyDeleteI just hope that the baby fruits become adults, Phuong!
DeleteOh, such a beautiful garden and greenhouse !!
ReplyDeleteGreat video !!
Happy new week !
Thank you Ela. You have a good week too.
DeleteI watched this video, and enjoyed it a few days ago, totally forgot to comment. It's always a pleasure peeking inside your greenhouse, I'm obsessed with them, I've even knocked on doors to get a peek inside, strangely, people are always happy to show me around!xxx
ReplyDeleteWhenever you are in our neck of the woods you would be welcome to knock on our door and ask to peek around our greenhouse, Dina
DeleteWell, that was quite the treat (just watched this while eating dinner and waiting to pick up my daughter at girl guides - much better than tv!). It looks like you are in for quite the load of apricots! I'm sure you've mentioned before, but just to refresh my memory - how large is your greenhouse...cause, I want one just like that!
ReplyDeleteSounds like your TV is as bad as ours, Margaret.THe garden greenhouse is 10’ By 20’ and is rather decrepit now. WE could do to replace it but it’s would be a logistical nightmare,=.
