A while ago Mal posted some sunset photos on his blog and I said that I had been taking sunset shots too. He came to have a peep at them on my blog and I hadn't posted them. To be honest I am always a little undecided as to whether to post non-gardening themed posts on this blog as somewhere or other I read a comment on another blog complaining about garden blogs that posted on other thing. To be honest I quite like to know a little more about the people whose blogs I read so I'm risking upsetting someone out there. After all they can just choose to not read this can't they?
The 'sunsets' have a slight link to gardening as like the squirrel that starred in a previous post, they were taken at Clumber park which is a National Trust property that also has a walled kitchen garden. I write 'sunsets' as not all really class as such but as they are all evening shots I hope you will excuse the artistic license.
Lovely photos, I'm pleased that you posted them. Remember that this is your blog, so you're allowed to post whatever you want. If someone doesn't like the post, they don't have to read it. Glad you got a positive ID on the orchid.
ReplyDeleteI know, Jo I remember you saying that to me before. I'm just being over-sensitive to remarks that I've read elsewhere. Glad you liked the photos.
DeleteHi Sue; I agree with Jo. Blogs are for their authors to write as they please. Don't let's forget the origin of the term - a blog is a "weblog" or record of what has been happening. I have no qualms at all about writing whatever I like. I advertise that my blog is about "Gardening, Food, Family and Travels", and I think that sums it up pretty well. I have so far resisted the urge to write about work! :(
ReplyDeleteP.S. I like sunset photos - you can publish as many of those as you like!
Must admit, Mark I find a variety of posts helps you 'get to know' the author as a person and not just a gardener! But maybe not everyone agrees still there's always the close button isn't there?
DeleteAwww Sue, for me. I am touched!!! Lovely sunsets. And that church - was the spire added at a later date?
ReplyDelete...Now just as long as you don't start anything really cranky - like baking bread!!!!
(Just a bit distracted at the moment with an ailing dog.)
My pleasure! I don't know about the church Mal, The photos were taken at Clumber Park same time as we had our squirrel encounter.
DeleteI'm leaving bread making to Martyn although he says he is giving me a lesson in using the bread machine today.
I hope you dog gets better soon - it's really horrible when they are ill
Lovely pics. Sue. I think you should put up whatever posts you want. After-all people can choose to read or not like you said. I write my blog for me and hope that other people get some enjoyment out of it...however of they don't enjoy it I don't mind if they don't come back...everyone has a choice!
ReplyDeleteSeems the consensus view Tanya.
