  2. Your "red admiral" butterfly is very similar to mine except that mine does not the white dot in the orange. What is yours called? They are very territorial and dive bomb me if I walk past "their" citrus tree. Butterflies are so much fun to watch.

    1. It's a red admiral, Jane. I love to see the detail of butterfly which is often only really possible through taking photo.

  3. I love dahlias but haven't grown any this year. I'm waiting for my sedum to bloom so that it will attract the butterflies, I've hardly seen any at all this year so far.

    1. I've only seen one or two butterflies, Jo. I hope to see more than last year. The buddleias are flowering now so I hope the butterflies will be attracted to them.

  4. Love the bee balm - I sowed two kinds - one was the annual lemon bee balm and the other a perennial similar to yours. Dang rabbits got to both of them so I am without this year.

    1. What a shame, Margaret. You are really having a problem with rabbits aren't you?

  5. Love that top plant, can't remember the name now, bergamot maybe? Definitely seeing fewer butterflies this year, and ditto to dragons, damsels, toads and frogs {but as you know that might be due to a neighbour's intervention}

    1. Bergamot, bee balm or monarda, Deborah. Early days for me to write of butterflies just yet.

  6. Our gardens are such a valuable source of food for the insect world.

  8. It's so nice to see your beautiful flowers, they are rather scarce in my garden at this time of year, most of the time actually... I do see a lot of butterflies though.
