Camellias

  1. A stunning display. Mine are way behind.
Have you ever taken cuttings? I was told they aren't worth the effort, but they did them on Gardener's World last week and made it sound worthwhile.

    1. I have tried but without success, Deborah. To be honest if the cuttings did root they would take a long time to come into flowering and if I wanted another camellia, I would rather have another variety anyway.

    1. The pink one usually flowers later than the red one, Linda but not this year.

  3. I’ve tried cuttings and did manage to get them rooted. But you’re right Sue. They are VERY slow growing.

  4. Lovely, particularly the pink one. I assume these are in your garden and not at the allotment, Sue?

    1. The pink one was a 50th birthday present from work colleagues, Dina, They tried to hide it in the art adviser’s room but he came to find me to show me it and ask what it was. You should have seen the face of one of my colleagues. He took me down to see the plant followed by said colleague, I told him what it was and said that if he didn’t find out who had left it there that I would have it! As it happened I did get it.
