Stocks of fresh vegetables were running out. Fortunately, this afternoon the conditions were good enough to venture to the plot and gather in more supplies.
I'm afraid that our winter harvests are producing some rather monotonous photos but if all has gone well that's what happens at this time of year.
With at least half of the vegetables hiding beneath ground level, we never quite know what to expect. So is this one carrot, four carrots or five carrots?
Weighing in at 553g it certainly won't be cast aside as an unacceptable shape.

DeleteI love the carrot. They do get crazy at times. And at least you have harvests now. Even if they tend to be the same. I wish I had a harvest. Though part of me is happy enough to sit inside and drink tea.
ReplyDeleteIt is often a dash and grab visit to the plot, Daphne I'm not a tea drinker so it would have to be coffee for me.

DeleteIt's carrot man! Any carrot shape would be acceptable here, I'm not worried about excess arms and legs. This will be the year for carrots I hope.

ReplyDeleteAnd I'm with Daphne - sometimes I wish I could harvest over the winter, other times I'm happy for the break and chance to concentrate on other things.
We do get a break from gardening Margaret - all we so is go to the plot to gather veg - sometimes just once in a fortnight depending on the weather.
