I scrolled up and down and then watched all 51 pictures. So beautiful, the landscape and the red deer, I loved it.

DeleteThe big stag is an impressive beast. Looks like an 8-pointer. Don't they get another point every year? (Sounds like a supermarket's loyalty card scheme!)
ReplyDeleteI used to think that too Mark but it seems that it is connected to testosterone and general power and prowess. After a certain age apparently the antlers diminish in size, They only have one mature stag in the park to avoid problems in the rutting season. I guess soon he will shed his antlers,

ReplyDeleteI was a bit irritated by the woman who kept telling her child they were reindeer, Jo and kept muttering "They are not reindeer". Almost as bad was her referring to the antlers as horns.

DeleteLovely photos Sue, and as a Norwegian I see a lot of lovely dinners here – but that might not be quite PC to say?! I am glad I don’t have them in my garden though, I used to have deer walking around eating buds of shrubs and trees in the spring and my strawberries in the summer when I lived in Norway – they can do a lot of damage in a short few hours but boy are they amazing, majestic creatures. Thanks for sharing, and happy New Year to you and yours!
