First hellebore

Spotted this week - our first hellebore to flower.

I'd better get cracking trimming off old leaves.

This was the first plant to flower last year too.

  1. It seems early for a hellebore but if it flowered at the same time last year, you'd think that it's going to be a regular thing for this particular plant.

    1. I don't know why this one is always so early, Jo and it carries on when the others come out.

  2. Wonderful. I'm surprised to see one already, but it's a lovely thing to have at this time of year.

  3. I've seen one too, a white one. Quite a surprise really as up to now it's always bloomed at the usual time, late winter.
    Yours is gorgeous.

  4. It's a pretty looking flower too Sue. I've had a Hellebore flowering all summer, which has been nice.

  6. None of my Hellebores flowered at all this year (last Winter), despite some buds on the biggest one. Hopefully I'll be luckier this time.

  8. That's early! I had a couple flower in the summer, but I think that's because I moved them and they got all in a dither.
