It looks like a pink carpet!
ReplyDeleteIt's more a brown carpet now, Jo
DeleteWow... beautiful! I wouldn't sweep and let the petals on the ground. LOL...
ReplyDeleteI'm agree with Joanne, it looks like a pink carpet
The petals are disintegrating now, Endah
DeleteYou'd be ok if you were going to a wedding, you'd have your own confetti to take with you.
ReplyDeleteI don't think a bride would appreciate those petals falling on a white dress, Jo.
DeleteMy Crab Apple tree does that. One minute it is a lovely thing covered in pink blossom; the next it is a carpet of brown sludge that you can't avoid bringing into the house on your shoes!
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame isn't it, Mark we just have to enjoy while we can.
DeleteBeautiful while they last. Perhaps we wouldn't appreciate them if they were longer lived.
ReplyDeleteMaybe not L

ReplyDeleteBlossom season is all too short and you end up with most of it on the soles of your shoes - a sad end to such a beautiful sight
I think a tree needs to have something to follow the blossom, Elaine. Interesting leaves or fruit. Otherwise it hasn't good garden value.
Deletean unusual and welcome post that doesn`t need dialogue, whoever said "a picture is worth a thousand words" had it spot on
ReplyDeleteDavid. Some reckon it was Napoleon - funny as I wouldn't expect him to speak English :)
DeleteHow beautiful....on the tree and on the ground!xxx
ReplyDeleteBoth on plant and on ground only beautiful fleetingly, Snowbird.
DeleteBeautiful, especially the camellia, I love them. I've just killed one which is disappointing. Don't know what I did, the leaves just went crispy and fell off. I've put a tiny one in the front garden, I hope it doesn't go the same way. I'd love a bush like yours one day, spectacular, and I love the glossy green foliage as well. What's the tree? I pass a similar one on the way to school in the mornings, it's lovely.
ReplyDeleteYou are having bad luck with shrubs, CJ. Maybe they will suddenly perk up.
DeleteI love all the pink, and the last photo is fab, a little umbrella of petals.
ReplyDeleteI like the last one too, Kelli.
DeleteLovely Sue!
ReplyDeleteThank you Alain
DeleteIt's so lovely to have petals all over the places!
ReplyDeleteOnly for a short while, Malar now they are wet and messy.
DeleteOooh, camellias are lovely and all that, but boy are they messy. I used to have mine leaning over a path too, easy to sweep up. Now the path is gone as the bed is instead twice as deep – no longer possible to sweep so the petals just have to be left to dry on top of the bark. But I wouldn’t be without these amazing spring flowering, pink carpet producing beauties :-)
ReplyDeleteMost of the magnolia petals are left on the same way Helene
DeleteIts like some sort of fairy land (especially with the petal steps). Sad that they soon end up being more of a nuisance!
ReplyDeleteIt is, Rozzie
ReplyDeleteI wish I can step into your garden now.
ReplyDeleteBreathtaking.
