    Fab photos. I like the third one best which shows the splashes of water. Did you take them with the burst function?

      They were taken with the burst function, Jo. Incredibly none showed the bird emerging!.

      They were from quite a distance so were well zoomed in too.

    So where is the fish...? This reminds me of seeing Gannets diving, in Cornwall.

    Fantastic image to capture Sue....burst function??? wonder if I have a feature like that on my camera?!?!?!

      I would expect it would have, Tanya. The symbol looks like a little pile of papers. Usually you can set the burst for various frames per second. When you press the shutter button it fires of a volley of shots. Things like light conditions and picture size can affect the speed.

      Thanks Jessica. They were taken at Potteric Carr on Sunday when not many birds were around and those that we saw were a long distance from the hides so these photos were zoomed quite a lot which is why they are not as sharp as I would have liked.

    Excellent photos, Sue - I like the second one, it reminds me of the focus of an olympic diver! I always forget about the burst function on my camera …
