Plot Panoramas

  1. I think you can get more of an idea of how the land lies, so to speak, from the panoramas.

    1. You just get a little distortion as you swivel round. A 360° panorama is bizarre. I'll have to post one sometime.

  2. Lovely photos - it's nice to get the bigger picture. Your site looks really nice.

  3. Your plot looks very big Sue, what size is it? Very very tidy as well not to mention very productive. You are obviously one busy busy lady to keep it looking so good - I bow down to you Sue :)

    1. And how did you manage to take such good panoramas?

    2. It's about a third of an acre all told and there are two of us working it and the weed control has really helped too this year.

The camera has a panorama setting. I just set the dial appropriately press the shutter and swivel and then press again and out pops a panorama. I'm looking forward to trying it on a scenic shot. Just get a bit of a curve where things should be straight. The camera just fires off rapid shots as you swivel. Getting the speed right is the key as it refuses to cooperate if you are too fast or too slow

    1. Once things are sorted and the weed control is down - the main task is keeping the grass cut which is mainly Martyn's domain although I do some edges.

  5. Are all the allotments a third of an acre? It seems very big. It looks beautifully maintained. The edging must be a lot of work.

    1. They are five plots joined together Alain. We took them in years ago when no-one wanted an allotment, At that time we could have had half the site had we wanted it!

  8. Very nice pictures Sue and the plots look much tidier than mine are at the moment. 6 weeks of digging instead of tidying for the Winter.

  10. Nice to get a clear idea of your domain. My daughter's camera has this function, but then again you can get the whole of my one plot into one shot, so I won't be needing it!

(Now the proud owner of 10m x 3.3m 100gsm weed suppressant fabric (and 100 pegs - got a bit carried away) Those brassicas are going to love it next year!)

    1. Good look with the weed suppressant. I hope your plants love it as much as ours seems to. Pity it isn't an answer to club root though!

  12. Great effect for the full plot picture, Sue. It's nice to see how borders connect over one angle. I've tried that here (on a smaller scale) but always get parts of the house in which is always a shame. It's a sunny day today - perhaps I should try again. Thanks for the reminder - a just in time, plan to do this before the weather ends many plants. Yesterday was wild and the plants took a bashing. Ha-ha with the distortion in a panoramic they may look quite funny ;-)
