    I find hover flies good photographic subjects as they don`t move around so fast as bees and they clearly like Japanese anemones, nice group Sue

      Very accommodating creatures although bumble bees aren't too bad - now white butterflies - there's a challenge!

      Well spotted Jo, The second and third photos are the result of cropping. I wanted to test how good the definition was on the first photo. I even managed to go further before the image started to pixelate.

    I agree about white butterflies! I have never managed to get a good photo of one.

    Great pictures Sue - although the bee population seems to have reduced there seems to be no reduction in the hoverfly population in my garden.

      No tripod CJ It's difficult to use a tripod when you have the chase your subject. I do use burst though which can help if the things are moving about.
