I find hover flies good photographic subjects as they don`t move around so fast as bees and they clearly like Japanese anemones, nice group Sue
ReplyDeleteVery accommodating creatures although bumble bees aren't too bad - now white butterflies - there's a challenge!
DeleteFantastic photos. Are all three the same photo?
ReplyDeleteWell spotted Jo, The second and third photos are the result of cropping. I wanted to test how good the definition was on the first photo. I even managed to go further before the image started to pixelate.
DeleteI agree about white butterflies! I have never managed to get a good photo of one.
ReplyDeleteMaybe they have a reason to be so nervy, Mark
DeleteWow! Great photos!
ReplyDeleteThank you Dewberry
DeleteGreat pictures Sue - although the bee population seems to have reduced there seems to be no reduction in the hoverfly population in my garden.
ReplyDeleteHappily we have had lots of bees, Angie
DeleteAmazing photo Sue, incredibly sharp. Did you use a tripod?
ReplyDeleteNo tripod CJ It's difficult to use a tripod when you have the chase your subject. I do use burst though which can help if the things are moving about.
DeleteMarvelous, I do love these pics, the last one is brilliant.xxxx
ReplyDeleteThank you, Snowbird
DeleteBeautiful pictures Sue! I love the way you can see the details in close up that you miss with the naked eye.
ReplyDeleteI always find that fascinating, Jill
