    What a sumptuous colour Sue! Their growth is so fascinating to watch. My one and only seems to have been in suspended animation for weeks but has just begun to open its flowers in the last couple of days. Not the colour advertised on the box 😂

      I bought my sister the same variety, Anna and hers is a much lighter red than mine. Her's is in a warmer room so I wonder if that has an effect. I did expect a really dark burgundy.

    Such a beauty. My former neighbour had a conservatory full of Hippeastrums and I loved visiting them.

    I've grown red amaryllis before but nothing quite so dark, it's a lovely colour. Mine is growing so slowly this year, it's only a couple of inches high so far and seems to have got stuck.

      So do I Dina. I’ve seen ones for sale ready grown to flowering stage but part of the fun is watching one grow.
