    What absolutely stunning scenery. I adore stone houses ( mine is cobble) and stone walls and rolling hills. I all looks soooooo peaceful. Thanks for taking us along on the ride.

    Wish I could just hop in the car and be in Yorkshire...after watching "creatures great & small" many years ago, it's on my would be wonderful to visit list! Nice photos!

      When I was teaching, Juliet I used to take my class to stay for a week,in the village where they filmed some of the scenes of All Creatires Grear and Small

    Looks idyllic, but as you say it can be harsh. A big challenge to us soft "Townies"! What were the water levels like in the rivers and streams?

      The rivers and streams were full Mark. I bet some of the waterfalls have been spectacular. It's the rivers and streams in this part of the world that can cause problems with flooding in the valleys as all the water rushes down from the slopes.

      Around here we are in a great position for days out aren't we? We have the coast , North Yorkshire Moors, Yorkshire Dales, Last of the Summer Wine area, The Peak District to name but some.

    Just lovely! I've never been to the UK - when we eventually go, touring the towns will be nice, I'm sure, but it's the countryside that I'm most looking forward to seeing.

      I do prefer the countryside, Margaret but we are lucky toio also have towns close by for shopping etc

    Such lovely photos, I have never been to the yorkshire Dales or cumbria....maybe I will visit for a holiday sometime...looks like a lovely place to go walking with Trojan.

    What beautiful pics Sue, this heavenly spot is close to my heart and good to see those rolling hills again. Has me missing them, I'll have to wait for May! Looks like the weather held out for you too.xxx

      It was just as well, Dina as we forgot to put my coat in the car so I had to wrap myself in Martyn's fleece - oversized and not very flattering on me.

    Whereabouts where you Sue? We know Cumbria fairly well but sadly have not ventured into Yorkshire much apart from the larger towns. Mark asked the question I wanted to.
