Although I'm a summer girl, I love crisp, autumn days. It's the dull, soggy ones like today which I aren't too keen on.
ReplyDeleteI'm a spring girl, Jo but autumn and winter can both be very good subjects for photography
DeleteBy the way, Jo it is dog friendly in all areas except the cafe but there are tables outside for when the weather is OK.
DeleteThat is a lovely park. I always love parks with water. I walk by one most days here and it always makes me smile.
ReplyDeleteWater definitely add something ti a scene, Daphne
DeleteIt looks like a lovely park to visit, especially at this time of year.
ReplyDeleteIt's a National Trust property, Jo and the photos in the post are just one part called the pleasure garden.
DeleteYou really have captured Autumn in your images Sue. Nice park and it certainly has it's fair share of birds too.
ReplyDeleteThere were plenty of garden/woodland birds too, Angie, They use old tree stumps as feeding tables
DeleteHere's hoping these crisp sunny days are plentiful in November.

No sign of that yet today Jean
DeletePerfect.
ReplyDeleteOne thing about a photo is that it cuts out the screaming and shouting,Jessica,
DeleteAwesome pictures Sue! I love the old trunks, leaves on the ground, swans and geese. All your photos perfectly show autumn.
ReplyDeleteI love old twisted tree trunks too Nadezda
DeleteLovely pics of Clumber park, very crisp. Parks remind me of my grandad Cyril and bowling greens, good old days. Sue a quick question do you know if you can purchase Styrian pumpkin seeds for growing in UK. I was making a pumpkin brittle and wondered why all shop pumpkin seeds were green so googled it and found that they came from the Styrian pumpkin and were better to use than conventional pumpkin white seeds.
ReplyDeleteIt's not really that kind of park Cpt. For Styrian Punpkins try Chiltern Seeds
DeleteSee this page on their website
The last photo is reminiscent of the Long Drive in Windsor Great Park. I love those lines of venerable old trees.
ReplyDeleteThat was the long drive from what would have been the main entrance at the time, Mark
DeleteWhat a beautiful park, I loved the birds!!! We have 45k pink footed geese across the road at the moment, a wonderful sight. Autumn does throw up some heavenly atmospheric scenes.xxx
ReplyDeleteThere were a few grey lags amongst the Canada geese, Dina, They certainly wouldn't need to mow or fertilise the grass,
DeleteBeautiful pictures! What a lovely park!
ReplyDeleteIt also has a walled kitchen garden and extensive woodland Jenni. There's bikes for hire so you can explore on wheels too.
DeleteLovely time of the year for a walk in the park. This is a new one on me so thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWell worth a visit, L Earlier photos of the walled kitchen garden here
DeleteMore photos including more birds here
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy a walk around Clumber Park, especially in Autumn. Lovely photos. In 1790 the tree lined drive from the gates to the original mansion was the longest in Europe ... they knew how to show off in those days!
ReplyDeleteSo, Patricia we may even be wandering around at the same time one day and not know it. :)
DeleteSuch wonderful photos and it looks like a lovely park. I have never been.
ReplyDeleteIt's worth a visit, Tanya and you could take Trojan
DeleteWell if Trojan is allowed then I am definitely more likely to visit!!
DeleteYay, I love Clumber park. Jan's folks live up that way and we sometimes go to the park when we're visiting. Lovely pics. We usually see nuthatches in the woods near the church, which is a real treat. There were some goosander on the water last time too (late spring I think we were last there).
ReplyDeleteIf you visit the link that I posted after l's comment you will see that we spent quite a while taking nuthatch photos, Lou. The problem was that so many people were shouting and children were running around screaming which kept scaring the birds. We really need a return visit when it is quieter,
DeleteWow, amazing photos of the nuthatches Sue! ( despite the noisy children)
DeleteThanks Lou - It was a case of waiting for a lull.
DeleteWow ! This is a great place to walk and relax ! I love to walk and enjoy the beauty of nature !
ReplyDeleteGreetings
So do I Ela.
