It seems early for a hellebore but if it flowered at the same time last year, you'd think that it's going to be a regular thing for this particular plant.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why this one is always so early, Jo and it carries on when the others come out.
DeleteWonderful. I'm surprised to see one already, but it's a lovely thing to have at this time of year.
ReplyDeleteI was too CJ and then I checked the old photos and realised that I should have expected it.
DeleteI've seen one too, a white one. Quite a surprise really as up to now it's always bloomed at the usual time, late winter.
ReplyDeleteYours is gorgeous.
Is it the lower growing hellebore niger, Jessica? Slugs ate the flowers on mine last year.
DeleteIt's a pretty looking flower too Sue. I've had a Hellebore flowering all summer, which has been nice.
ReplyDeleteContrary aren't they Angie?
DeleteOh bless it's little purple petals! Always a welcome sight!xxx
ReplyDeleteIt is Dina especially as I can view the hellebore bed from the house windows,
DeleteNone of my Hellebores flowered at all this year (last Winter), despite some buds on the biggest one. Hopefully I'll be luckier this time.
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed for both of us Mark, I planted sine new ones last year that I'll be looking out for.
DeleteHow early Sue. Looked at mine today and was relieved that there are no signs of colour as yet.
ReplyDeleteI'm always happy to see it Anna, however early,
DeleteThat's early! I had a couple flower in the summer, but I think that's because I moved them and they got all in a dither.
ReplyDeleteI think this one is like me and always turns up early, Patsy
