When I see moss attach the tree bark, I remember the old coffee trees in my father's plantation. Most of the stems were covered by the thick moss. That's so natural.
ReplyDeleteIt's like velvet, Endah
DeleteI always think moss looks like a thick green carpet, there is some growing on the bricks surrounding the raised beds. I like it there.
ReplyDeleteWe have a small wall around our pond and we have lovely moss on the shady side, Jo. I love it.
DeleteMoss is so tactile, I can't help running my hands over it when I see it.
ReplyDeleteI'm exactly the same, Jo
DeleteIt looks so green and lush. I find that in dry areas people wish they could only grow it. In humid climates, people often complain about it!
ReplyDeleteThese photos were all taken at Harlow Carr, Alain where they seem to positively encourage it as do I.
DeleteLovely pics, Sue. What is the squirrel eating? Is it Beech mast?
ReplyDeleteIt was in the wooded bit of Harlow Carr, Mark and the squirrel was amongst beech trees. I've zoomed other photos I took and it does look like beech mast.
DeleteBrilliant post!
ReplyDeleteThank you Pumpkin Lady and welcome.
DeleteFor a minute there I thought you'd moved to Devon!
ReplyDeleteNo, Jessica still here :D
DeleteYou have great camera, such detailed photos. I love moss but it's too warm during the summer here and it just dies.
ReplyDeleteIn areas that are not shady it will look as though it has died off in summer here too, Leanan but it seems to refresh itself when in is moist again
DeleteBeautiful photos, I do love seeing moss. If I see a nice old stone wall covered with moss it always stops me in my tracks. The green things that like damp shade really appeal to me.
ReplyDeleteI can't resist taking photos of ot CJ
DeleteI am a huge fan of moss....my front lawn grows a plentiful supply of it. What fab pics....and I simply love the squirrel!! wonderful.xxx
ReplyDeleteI'm a fan too Snowbird
DeleteGreat images Sue, I love moss too - especially on rocks/stone. I've a great view of some from my shady gardenwatching window :-)
ReplyDeleteWe'll have to start a moss fan club, Shirley
