DeleteNo idea..but I did realise how peculiar the birds face looks after studying the photo for AGES...of course I am still none the wiser...we are all probably going to kick ourselves in the end though!!

DeleteI have an idea: the bird aerates the soil with its beak between the daffodils :) No.. I'm just guessing.

ReplyDeleteIt's right Elaine - pity we hadn't a photo of the bird Jack snipe which is smaller than a snipe then the names would have been exactly the same.
