ReplyDeletehi, new to the site, thanks.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome Anon - sorry you went in the spam folder as Blogger doesn't like comments marked Anon as it thinks it may be a machine entry.
ReplyDeleteHi found your site looking for manure,Ilive in horbury near the park, like the site keep up the good work.Al.
ReplyDeleteHi, Welcome hope you come back again to read more.
ReplyDeleteBy the way for manure in Horbury try Sowood Farm on the nasty bend on the main road between Ossett and Horbury
ReplyDeleteThe onions and shallots in the photos look great. I too had a good crop of both even though I unfortunately did not plant enough to last more than a couple of months.
ReplyDeleteLike you I had problems with the garlic this year which has always been a successful crop in the past.
I do think the weather this year suited some crops more than others.
Nice to read about and to see someone else's allotment thanks.
You're really welcome 2uesday. Yes I too had good garlic in the past. Our weather has been bizarre hasn't it?
ReplyDeleteA thoroughly enjoyable blog! Filled with so much information for someone like me (a keen but not very knowledgeable gardener)- puddle pond is pretty much the same as my 'wildlife pond'. I wanted to start small and was put off by the sheer size of some of the preformed ones available.
ReplyDeleteI followed your like from Roger's blog about your gravel bed - you've done a great job and I love your ferns.
Thanks Angie - glad you enjoyed your visit. We have a bigger pond that is over 5 feet deep which was all dug out by hand - well spade really. I could stand in the bottom and almost disappear - before water was added of course.
