Oh wow, and I thought it was dry here in Sheffield. Those cracks! I hope we get more rain soon. I'd like 24 hours of solid rain :)

DeleteHallelujah!
ReplyDeleteAmen to that, Mal
DeleteHurray! Rain! Sue, your hard job watering the plants is over, hopefully your barrels are fully filled in rainwater.
ReplyDeleteCertainly a cause to celebrate, Nadezda.
DeleteWhat a wonderful sight! Struth....the cracks in your soil are horrendous! We've had rain here and there too, not a lot but enough to green things up. I never thought I could be so happy to see the wet stuff!xxx
ReplyDeleteMe neither, Dina. I think we have something resembling grass again.
DeleteWe were down in Devon & Dorset last weekend. They had had "a couple of days" of rain and everywhere was noticeably greener than up our way. We still haven't had enough rain to do any good, though today's forecast shows heavy rain for several hours... Still (as you say) it's a relief not to have to spend hours watering.
ReplyDeleteWe went up on the North Yorkshire Moors for the day on Friday and there was noticeably greener too. After the downpour our grass greened up a bit but we were back to watering on Saturday. It's windy now which doesn't help. Our garden is suffering from neglect and I think lots of plants will need replacing. Some borders will need recreating from scratch.
