OH, my goodness! He is a handsome fellow for sure. I don't think I've seen such spectacular colour on a pheasant before.
He has to wear his best feathers this time of year, Deborah to attract the ladies.
Oh yes, they know how to strut their stuff.
That was a possible title, Jessica.
My, my aren't we a looker :)
He will be hoping the ladies think the same, Margaret.
They really are amazing looking creatures....they so often give me a heart attack when I disturb them whilst out walking though...noisy things!!
He was photographed in a wooded area in North Yorkshire, Tanya. We could hear them calling all day. Unmistakeable racket.
Such a pretty boy!xxx
He seemed to know it too, Dina.
Such a beautiful bird! It came to your allotment?
No, Malar, the photograph was taken onm our day out on the North Yorkshire Moors. Just as well as he could be quite destructive in the plot.
Interesting, lovely bird!
He has a very harsh voice though, Endah
He knows it too, Brian
I grew up hearing the cackel of pheasants. They are wonderful birds. You got some great photos.
Thanks, Bonnie. I think he was a poser.
They're such beautiful birds, aren't they? Even the females have beautiful markings even though they're not so colourful. My mum and dad used to get them in the garden in their old house.
They are like peacocks - beautiful to look at but their beauty is not matched by a good singing voice
