A busy week

Last week was a busy week in more ways than one.

We actually paid a couple of visits to the allotment. The first visit was to harvest some parsnips as I needed some for some meals that were on the week's menu.
We lifted more than we needed as we decided to store some at home. Often when I need a parsnip we can't, for some reason or other make it to the plot. We've been pleased with the crop. Most are 'proper' parsnip shaped rather than looking like fat deformed spiders. They must have continued developing as many were larger than those lifted earlier.

    The parsnips look perfect! We’re actually going to try again this year, I hope ours look as good as yours.
    Lovely photos of the frost but it’s horribly cold!
    You take care too, no matter what the powers-that-be say!

      No problem, Belinda. Frost is photogenic but as you say bitterly cold. I do think lofting all restrictions so quickly could bite us back. Hospitals aren.t lifting and as Martyn still had a Covid test and then to self isolate prior to him being admitted for his procedure. The cynic in me wonders whether they are using deflection tactics,

    Ouch re the holes and stitches, that sounds painful. Here's to good results and that all goes well for Martyn's surgery. Ruby looks delightful! I loved the frosty photos . How lucky you are to have pheasants in the garden. Wonderful looking Parsnips.xxx

      The holes weren't too bad Dina as I had a local anaesthetic. Ruby's missing her walks though.

    OOo you poor thing, sounds painful! I hope you're ok and Martyn too. I agree with you totally about lifting all restrictions, seems very sudden to me too. I have to be extra careful as a close family member is terminally ill with lung cancer and just cannot afford to pass on covid, I shall be staying as careful as I can. Love seeing the photos of Ruby, she looks gorgeous as ever. I hope you heal quickly. Karen

      Stitches are out now. Martyn is just having to be careful about what he does. We are keeping to our own restrictions.

    Beautiful Parsnips ! Hope the hospital visits go well and the storms pass over quickly . So gloomy here at the moment .

    Everything looks yummy. I love leeks, but it is almost impossible to grow them out here. I wish both you and Martyn luck on your medical issues.
