Thank you for visiting and leaving a comment - it is great to hear from you and know that there are people out there actually reading what I write! Come back soon.
(By the way any comments just to promote a commercial site, or any comments not directly linked to the theme of my blog, will be deleted)
I am getting quite a lot of spam. It is not published and is just deleted. I have stopped sifting through it and just delete any that ends up in my spam folder in one go so I am sorry if one of your messages is deleted accidentally.
Comments to posts over five days old are all moderated.
None of them are better than what you've got now for readability. You might use some of the others for titles and headings. Old eyes like mine need to have a great distinction between black and white and a font size that does not need additional zooming.
ReplyDeleteI think the problem other than size is when letters are too close together, Jane. My eyesight isn’t brilliant either.
DeleteInteresting as I am struggling with formatting with new Blogger. Pictures are a particular bugbear, but my last but one post ended up with a whole range of fonts, sizes and formats. I suspect this was particularly bad as I had started it before the new version was imposed on me. My favourite font? Times New Roman or Courier.
ReplyDeleteI had the range of fonts etc issue. I resolved it by, once I had finished writing and was ready to print, I highlighted the entire blog, photos and all, and formatted it then.
DeleteCan you set the default font to the one that you want generally, Mal
DeleteThank you for the mention! As a calligrapher, I will be playing a lot with the fonts, as I cannot resist.
ReplyDeleteI was taught italic script at primary school, Deborah which wasn’t great for note taking at high school where one teacher asked whether I was training as a monk.
DeleteInteresting to read this Sue, I'm guessing there is much change now in blogger and it doesn't look like everyone is comfortable with it. I wasn't aware this was afoot when I moved to WordPress. I'm getting used to the different formatting there, I've liked its a bit different from what I was used to. The difference though is that I opted to make the change and everyone using blogger didn't.
ReplyDeletere the typefaces, I love there is a courgette one too. My two picks from your list would be paprika and Monserrate. Enjoy picking yours and any other options you now have.
When things change it is always difficult, Shirley. We use Wordpress as well for parts of our website.
DeleteOoh, I’m going to play with fonts now! I haven’t noticed much difference in Blogger, but probably I just haven’t looked - until today!
ReplyDeleteI think Paprika is my favourite from your selection
To access the new fonts there is an add fonts option at the top of the fonts list, Belinda
DeleteI think I’ll need to access on my pc, can’t see all your lovely fonts on the website from my iPad
DeleteI can see them on my iPad Belinda. Did you scroll to the top of the font list and tap add new fonts. Some fonts don’t look good on a tablet but OK on the pC
DeleteWhen it comes to fonts, I love fancy fonts for heading and subheadings, but when it comes to the body of the text, in my opinion, readability & comfort is key. Sometimes, I think people use alternative fonts simply to be different, fancy, etc., not so much that it makes it a better experience for the user. I think the font that you currently use is by far the best on that front.
ReplyDeleteI agree that readability is the main quality, Margaret. To be honest I wouldn’t consider the fancier fonts even as headings.
DeleteI like the Eagle Lake,Paprika, and of course Cabin.
ReplyDeleteCabin would be very appropriate for you, Bonnie
DeleteI like the one you use, it's easy to read.xxx
ReplyDeleteIt seems that’s few people prefer that one, Dina.
DeleteOh we are spoilt for choice now. I like your present font Sue which is very easy on the eye. What is it? Looking at the others I favour Montserrat and Paprika.
ReplyDeleteMy present font is Verdana, Anna which I’ll probably stick to in light of several comments.
