Eeek, I wouldn't have been close enough to take their photo!
ReplyDeleteThe zebra spider was tiny, Jo something like 6mm long not scary at all
DeleteThey have to be to stay alive...
ReplyDeleteThey do indeed, Mal much maligned too.
DeleteInteresting. I have never seen these spiders before.
ReplyDeleteThe zebra spider is easily overlooked, Lisa as it is only tiny, far smaller than the photo.
DeleteWonderful photos! I've noticed a lot of spiders out and about of late. I'm pretty poor at identifying them though.xxx
ReplyDeleteI find them to be fascinating creatures, Dina The tiny one is a zebra spider - a jumping spider that doesn’t build a web but stalks its prey. I think the second one could be a black garden spider as it seems to have garden spider markings.
DeleteThe zebra spiders seem to jump and in a bizarre way I find that fascinating, but only because it is so small. Is the other one a false widow? The big males can look stunning but I never get so close.
ReplyDeleteI think it’s just a black garden spider, Deborah but I could easily be wrong.
DeleteOh ! My Giddy Aunt !!!!! :( I,m outta here !
ReplyDeleteBut they’re a gardener’s friend Debs. :-)
