When we first moved into our current property (1991) our neighbours had a big Buddleia tree and we frequently counted 25 or 30 butterflies on it simultaneously - mostly Peacocks and Red Admirals. Now we have a Buddleia in our own garden but we remark if we see more than one butterfly on it!
ReplyDeleteFor the last two years we have commented on the lack of butterflies, Mark. Prior to that we saw lots of different butterflies and as they fluttered about there were too many to count. This year we seem to have seen a few more but still nothing like in the past,
DeleteThe butterflies and the flowers are so beautiful. Thanks for such a cheerful post, it's just what I needed.
ReplyDeleteI’m glad to cheer you a little, Michelle
DeleteI enjoy seeing the different species you have. I saw four different types in my yard today. They always make me happy.

DeleteOh...aren't they just beautiful....I've noticed comma's around here for the first time. Love the peacocks.xxx
ReplyDeleteWe have a small tortoiseshell the other day, Dina. I’ve also seen a Speckled Wood, a few gatekeepers and too many large and small whites.
