Thank you for visiting and leaving a comment - it is great to hear from you and know that there are people out there actually reading what I write! Come back soon.
(By the way any comments just to promote a commercial site, or any comments not directly linked to the theme of my blog, will be deleted)
I am getting quite a lot of spam. It is not published and is just deleted. I have stopped sifting through it and just delete any that ends up in my spam folder in one go so I am sorry if one of your messages is deleted accidentally.
Comments to posts over five days old are all moderated.
This place look so organized even though with ancient theme! ;)
ReplyDeleteIt was, Malar
DeleteWOW! Beamish is on my list of places to visit one day, but, my goodness, what an incredible place you have shown it to be with your terrific photos. I've read a few blogs about Beamish, but truly your photos are absolutely the best ones I've seen. I'm going to make time later to watch your video too. Thank you so much for sharing this, it's a real treat.
ReplyDeleteThis was our second visit, Deborah. Our first was October last year. The ticket was valid for 12 month so this time the visit was free. A 12 month ticket costs the same as a day ticket! Last time was busier as it was school's half term. This visit we saw parts that we didn't get to last time and missed some of the things we visited preciously. Photos of October's visit are here in this album
DeleteThank you for the link. Something to look forward to on a very dreary day in west Wales!
DeleteI remember going to Beamish years ago, when our girls were little! We were surprised by how many authentic artefacts are still around after all this time.
ReplyDeleteWe went into the store where they keep their collections, Mark. The next area that they are going to develop is a 1950's urban area, so many of the 'artefacts' were all too familiar.
DeleteA slice of history we visited something similar in Norfolk years ago but it wasnt a pit village but a workhouse garden, nice set of pictures both of you
ReplyDeleteBeamish has lots of different areas, David but no workhouse. The 1900's town was removed from elsewhere and totally rebuilt as was the pit village but Pockerley Old Hall and the 1940's farm are the original locations. The whole site covers 350 acres No workhouse though
DeleteThat's a place I'd really like to go.
ReplyDeleteThere's lots to see but I would avoid the weekend and school holidays., Jessica. The problem is that the steam train and fairground only work during those tomes. There is definitely too much to see everything in one day if you don't want to just dash around.
DeleteAbsolutely fascinating! A place I would like to see first hand.xxx
ReplyDeleteIt's been on our to visit list for some time, Dina. It did not disappoint.
