It looks like there's going to be a good show in spring if all those buds are anything to go by.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't that be wonderful, Jo?
DeleteBudding so early...with all of those it will be a lovely sight in spring.
ReplyDeleteLet's hope the weather doesn't do its worst, Tanya
DeleteThat puts a very positive slant on the winter.
ReplyDeleteWe need something cheerful as winter approaches don;'t we, L?
DeleteOh, I see. I thought for a minute that you meant that YOU were getting ready for Spring, which seemed a bit premature!
ReplyDeleteI'm always more than ready for spring, Mark.
DeleteIt is all there, ready to bloom when the time comes!
ReplyDeleteMakes us a bit more optimistic, Alain.
DeleteOh how wonderful to see signs of spring while we await snow! Now, the first photo...think I know what it is but could you confirm please...and thank you.
ReplyDeleteIt's a pieris, Bren
DeleteI thought so, a different variety than my Valley Valentine...and maybe it is just your more robust climate that makes the buds so large as ours are shivering in their smallness))). Thank you Sue.
DeleteSights like these keep me going Sue.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly does, Jessica
DeleteBuds....bring it on I say!! I noticed that my recently planted tulips are popping out, and it's been cold here. What is going on?xxx
ReplyDeleteThe plants are as eager as we are, Snowbird
DeleteI am sooo ready for spring too Sue, and my garden is also showing the same signs, plus crocuses, snowdrops, irises and hellebores just starting out. Yep, not that long until spring, can’t wait!
ReplyDeleteMe neither, Helene
DeleteOh how beautiful. I love to see the buds waiting for the next season. I have a little white magnolia with soft silver buds on it.
ReplyDeleteOur magnolia has small buds too CJ which can be seen now the leaves have all dropped.
DeleteI keep telling myself it won't be long. I'm not sure who I'm trying to kid!
ReplyDeleteCan I ask what the plant is in the bottom 2 pictures please Sue? It's lovely. Lots of buds here too and we had our first snow this afternoon!
It's a garrya, Angie
DeleteProof that winter isn't a dead season at all, so much glorious promise of what is to come.
