I am getting quite a lot of spam. It is not published and is just deleted. I have stopped sifting through it and just delete any that ends up in my spam folder in one go so I am sorry if one of your messages is deleted accidentally.
Comments to posts over five days old are all moderated.
very suttle Sue, I was on the point of sending in a caustic comment about your spelling
ReplyDeleteYou caustic, Roger? Never!
DeleteI've never grown ferns but there's a really shady spot in my garden and I'm wondering whether to put some in there. You've got a good selection there.
ReplyDeleteThey are well worth their place in the garden, Jo and many don't have to be in shade
DeleteLovely. I'm a big fan of ferns since someone told me that slugs don't eat them. I'd like to put some in my shady and empty front garden - at the moment I one of those disgraceful front garden people with no plants. Me! Who loves plants and hates empty gardens. But it's one of those things I haven't got round to yet. 2014 will be the year...
ReplyDeleteI love them CJ and slugs and snails don't bother them at all. There is such a wide range of shapes, colours and sizes too - go for it.
DeleteI love ferns. Thankfully for me, perfect for under trees.
ReplyDeletePerfect in a lot of places Jessica.
Deletewhat a lovely fernery - I have one, totally unloved and neglected, shame on me
ReplyDeleteI gathered up plants dotted about the garden to plant this up, Elaine.
DeleteI'm quite keen on ferns these days too - gradually building up a little "fernery" like yours. Because of the mild weather this Autumn, mine have been very slow to die back this year.
ReplyDeleteThis is what has happened here too Mark - these are holding fast.
DeleteThey look very lush & green.
ReplyDeleteThey will die back, Jo before too much longer.
DeleteI'm another fan of ferns - I do like your little fernery, a pretty sight looking out the window.
ReplyDeleteThe window is to the summerhouse Angie so I may have to have another fernery that I can see from the house.
DeleteI love that third pic, wonderful!!!! I do love ferns but they have invaded my garden and are impossible to dig out in some places.xxx
ReplyDeleteThat's a type of Adiantum - a maidenhair fern, Snowbird - which will soon lose all its fronds.
Deletenice fern! I have started collection of ferns from early this year too! They really look good!
ReplyDeleteAre your ferns similar types to ours Malar
DeleteBeautiful ferns. I collect some fern, but actually I'm not serious to collect it. I collect the wild ferns from the roadsides.
ReplyDeleteI haven't consciously collected them Endah - I just seem to have ended up with quite a lot
DeleteActually I'm not a fan of ferns but your the last one is nice - bronze leaves, Sue.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice week!
It's only that colour as the leaves are ready to be shed, Nadezda. It has green leaves during its growing season.
DeleteLovely pictures Sue...were these taken on one of those rare still days we don't see many of lately??
ReplyDeleteThey were taken on 15th, Tanya when if I remember rightly wasn't too blowy
