Berries that have poor druplet formation are more common following cool, cloudy or wet conditions during flowering, because bees are less active in these conditions’.

This seems right to me in light of the weather that we were having in July.Sue Garretthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08164518448098182276noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33294007.post-85001812590562664672020-08-13T13:46:50.531+00:002020-08-13T13:46:50.531+00:00My pleasure tpals. My pleasure tpals.Sue Garretthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08164518448098182276noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33294007.post-45877537675174142402020-08-13T13:45:48.557+00:002020-08-13T13:45:48.557+00:00We harvested a kohlrabi at about 12 cm across Shah...We harvested a kohlrabi at about 12 cm across Shaheen just to try it out. I sure hope you find out what causes this odd growing phenom on blackberries. Mine have done this from time to time. I have often wondered why. I suspect it is due to rain amounts. I tend to let our kohlrabies get a bit bigger if we're cooking them, and take them smaller for eating raw. They usually oblige me with a mix of smaller and larger ones anyway. As for the plums, I'm sure I have eaten the occasional garden pest accidentally, but I would rather not know about it!Dave @ HappyAcreshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03441364543023807886noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33294007.post-81844417320423985202020-08-10T17:09:02.413+00:002020-08-10T17:09:02.413+00:00Great harvest, and the season is definitely headin...Great harvest, and the season is definitely heading into Autumn now with all the blackberries and plums.Rustic Pumpkinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07335714529878600216noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33294007.post-79421782018315719122020-08-10T13:45:45.257+00:002020-08-10T13:45:45.257+00:00I can't wait to harvest the potatoes - I let m...I can't wait to harvest the potatoes - I let mine go until September so that they can get a bit of a tougher skin for storage. I would love to know the reason. As for kohlrabi the books always say tennis ball size (although we have grown Supersmelz which the seed merchants boast grows up to 8kg so this can't always be right).
