  4. I thought it was a clematis seed head!
    Last year (or maybe the year before) one of my clematis produced a perfectly swirled seed head like yours. I haven't seen one so perfect since, until now! Great photo!

  7. It was the seedhead from clematis tangutica Bill McKenzie that I grew from seed many years ago. I thought that the very close up photograph looked a bit like a bird's breast.
