The enemy

  1. I wish snails weren't quite so pretty to look at, for the voracious little blighters do have some stunning markings and shades of {mostly} brown.

    1. It’s amazing how something relatively small can cause such damage, Deborah

  2. These little blighters will devastate your yard when there is a drought because the plants become their water source. I wonder if the can of beer in the pie plate method might work?

I also wonder if you have opossums? Opossums eat snails. I can hear them crunch at night. I don't have snails any more, just slugs. Up with 'possums! Down with snails!

    1. We don’t have oppossums, Jane. Hedgehogs eat them and frogs and toads do too but these are not around in the numbers that they once were. Some birds each them but there are just so many slugs and snails about.

  3. Great photos of an old enemy of the garden. The slugs and snails are rampant here too. UGH...

  4. Oh yes, we have our fair share of those, although I'm surprised I haven't seen more of them around this year with all the rain we've been getting.
