    1. The goldfinches are a permanent fixture most of the year, Dina. The sunflowers are emptied daily

  2. We have a feeder attached to the picture window in my wife's studio. I keep it stocked in sunflower seeds and the birds are busy all day. Our goldfinches aren't quite as colorful as yours though.

    1. Funnily a lot of our birds have the same names but look quite different don't they, Dave. In Victorian days goldfinches were kept on cages - a case of their looks being their downfall.

  3. Awww, glad the little blue tit got a turn eventually. We have lots of goldfinches visiting but the greenfinches have been missing for a while but they've just started coming back again.

    1. The tits don’t miss out, Jo. When the other birds are monopolising the sunflower hearts, they are feeding on peanuts and fat balls.

  4. Oh that's a joy to to watch Sue :) Thank you. Years ago we used to get a lot of finch visitors but sadly they are a rare sight here now.

    1. Glad that you enjoyed it, Anna. Greenfinches have reduced in number in our garden.

  5. That's a busy feeder. BTW the goldfinches have been happy with the open grated sunflower heart feeder I got.
