  1. The blossom has been wonderful this spring, hopefully it will lead to a bumper harvest.

  2. Glorious. Apple blossom is my favourite. The one that's pink inside as well is amazing. I have one that's deep raspberry on the outside, but it's still pale when it opens (Ribston Pippin). Is your pink one from a red apple? I'm wondering if it follows.

    1. It is a red apple, CJ. The flesh should be red too. If it fruits this year it will be a first.

  4. I love apple blossoms, they remind me of strawberry and cream ice-cream :)

  5. Beautiful. Does that darker pink blossom (the one which goes with the slightly reddish leaf) belong to a crab apple, or an apple apple? Do you happen to recall the variety?

    2. I've been lurking about your blog for years, being impressed almost daily by your handsome veg :-). Thanks for the variety name. We have a crab/apple cross in Australia called Huonville crab, with a not-quite-so-red flesh; edible, but a bit more astringent than I like.

    3. If we achieve any fruit I'll report back, Alexis. I'm always intrigued to find out who is reading my blog quietly. Stats and followers list suggest that there are quite a lot of people that I never have any contact with so it was good to hear from you.

  6. How lovely! Of the three trees we planted 3 years ago, only one has bloomed so far. Fingers crossed that another one will join in the fun this year :)

    1. I always think fruit trees are just as attractive as ornamentals and wonder why more people don't see the double benefit and plant them in gardens Good luck with your trees/
