    1. They are lovely little birds, His wife isn't quite as colourful but still pretty. If you go to the widget at the side of my blog about identifying garden birds and click there are pictures of all the birds that we get in the garden.

    1. We have sparrows in the UK too, Malar. We have two types the house sparrow and the tree sparrow.

  5. Lovely photos Sue - you must have a lot of patience to get shots like that!
    Can I ask you an unrelated question please? I have grown tomatoes successfully for years but this year I have about 50% which are just not flowering at all, even though they are big, healthy plants.All in the greenhouse,with lots of ventilation.

    1. Sometimes tomato plants won't flower if you feed them to early, Jane. However I guess you haven't done that so possibly it is the low light conditions that we are having with all this horrible weather.

    1. Yes, Brian I have seen chaffinches with stumpy feet, usually in the same location. I have read thar the problem is viral which would explain clusters. Another explanation is mites. Apparently although it is debilitating it isn't life threatening,
