    1. Thanks David. It would be easier if we hadn't chosen to have leading on the windows.

  2. Yesterday, for the first time I saw Red Kites in Fleet. They are gradually spreading over the whole country (well, the South, at least). I hope to be able to take some photos of them before long!

    1. I think Harrogate near Leeds was one of the first sites where red kites were released, Mark. When we go to Harlow Carr, we often see them citcling above. When we visited one garden we had the opportunity to watch one in flight from quite close quarters. We think that last week we also had a buzzard flying high above the allotments. Both beautiful birds.

  4. What cuties! I wonder if I could hang a feeder with peanuts like that - we have lots of squirrels and I'm thinking they would go crazy trying to get at the nuts.

    1. The goldfinch is eating sunflower hearts, Margaret. We have grey squirrels visit too and they do climb up the tree and steal nuts from the feeders. We have one feeder though that is squirrel proof.

    1. We enjoy watching them, Dina but we don't seem to be getting as many birds into the garden as we used to.

  7. Just now here, you hear the birds more than you see them. I was pleased the other day to be outside when the swallows came back. On their first visit of the year they make sure their house is still awaiting them. They fly around for a few minutes and then leave for a week or two until they come back to settle.

  8. What a treat to see all of the birds that are visiting your garden this time of year. Your UK goldfinch is so handsome. and looks so very different than out bright gold ones here. They are just coming back to the feeder this week. Thanks for sharing!
