    1. It is, Jo. I've always thought that science fiction gets ideas from the microscopic world

    1. I think taking macro photography enables you to see things you wouldn't see with the naked eye Jo.

  4. I love macro photography ~ looking at what is so often taken for granted and missed. Great shots indeed, Sue!

    1. It's the sort of thing you notice when you are leaning on a wall or fence waiting for steam train to fly past Deb

  5. You do not state whether you have grown all that liverwort and moss with your own fair hand or have merely visited a garden like mine.

    1. Some was growing on a gate in the Peak District and some on a wall in Denby Dale, Roger. I have to have something to keep me occupied whilst Martyn has me waiting to photograph steam trains

  7. I really enjoyed these images, especially of the moss heads, micro is SO fascinating isn't it, and to think things get smaller and smaller....I once heard we have tiny creatures living on our eyelashes!
Brilliant pics, what camera do you have, and what are those tubes in the last two pics?xxx

    1. The tubes are the fruiting bodies of the lichen. It's where the spores are formed. The open tubes have cast their spores. It was my Panasonic Lumix FZ72, Dina. It was set at the widest angle and held very close . The images are 16mp and so really large which means that I can crop down to interesting areas,
