  9. Your photos are lovely! Is the Chaenomeles a type of Quince? Is yours edible? I'd love to grow one on the plot- I guess in a sheltered position?

    1. The chaenomeles is a type of quince Jill but an ornamental one. The fruits are edible in that they aren't poisonous but not very palatable either. We do have a quince that produces fruit for picking on our plot and the fruit from that is delicious.
I have wriiten about it in this post

    2. That's great, thanks Sue, just read the post, and it has made up my mind that an edible Quince is on the list for the plot!

  10. Great stuff, Sue! Very artistic. Very much the sort of thing I like. Very different to your normal style, too.

    1. Thanks Mark. I didn't realised that I had a style maybe it's just the photos that I use on my blogs that have a certain style. I wonder what it is :)

  11. Lovely.
We've got an old chaenomeles in a corner behind the greenhouse, must go and have a look and see if it is in flower.

  14. Hello - I've just come across your striking photographs of the ice. It is starting to thaw here and I'm glad about that, but I will miss the beauty of the snow and ice in the countryside.

    1. Hi Wendy - our snow is far from beautiful at the moment - all that is left is filthy slush. It looked lovely for a while.
